Parts bag number one - all of the elements necessary to construct Yoda's skeleton are here.
Actually, it is a rectangular structure of Technic pieces featuring lots and lots of pins.
The first detail pieces are included here in the form of the Jedi's feet. They incorporate quite a bit of movement, using elements that allow them to swivel laterally - and each of his toes (claws?) can bend downward.
Lastly, a small assembly is mounted at the top of the structure which will serve to impart movement to Yoda's head.

Yoda Build, Part 1 - Getting Started
Hi, Boys and Girls, and all of you assorted AFOLs !
It's time for another build series here at the home of the Double Decker Couch.
This time, the subject is Star Wars set #75255 -
YODA !
Here is a shot of the parts bags all laid out. There are 13 labeled bags, plus one extra containing larger parts, along with a long axle piece and a small sticker sheet.
Parts count is 1771. The midi-chlorian count is quite high as well, this being the diminutive Jedi Master himself.
"Strong in the Force, he is."
The biggest attraction for me concerning this set is that it is not the usual "play" set, full of mini-figs and vehicles, rather it is a bona-fide LEGO 'sculpture'.
So, time to get started.
Got the can o' Dew at the ready, and the Star Wars theme cued up on the CD player...

"Nothing Personal...It's Just Business....."
"...LORD BUSINESS !!"
I recently acquired an out of production LEGO Movie set - Lord Business' Evil Lair.
Even though I am still in the middle of the Yoda project, I just had to break into this next set for the sole purpose of picking out the parts and building the Lord Business minifig, ridiculously big shoes and all!
This is the only LEGO Movie set that features Lord B in all of his towering glory. I was quite lucky, indeed, to become owner of this set.
The remainder of the set will get built once Yoda is finished, but for now, Lord Business is free to roam the extensive artifact collection that is the top of my workbench!

A Rather Nasty Tree...
I just finished up a build of the Harry Potter Whomping Willow set. (75953)
Nice, detailed castle section, cool car, and a good set of minifigs.
The Whomping Willow itself is an interesting build, especially with the added Technic limb-spinning mechanism.
I concur with many of the online reviews I've seen about the tree- the small green flora pieces are a loose fit and constantly fall off.
A nice set, nonetheless.
I just might have to spring for the Hogwarts Great Hall set....

A Very Busy AFOL...
It's been some time since I last posted here, but I have been very busy in terms of LEGO building.
Christmas and a recent birthday have netted the following sets:
This last one, Lord Business' Evil Lair, is a long out of production LEGO Movie set which I have been seeking for quite some time. My daughter found it -of all places - at a Tuesday Morning store at a greatly reduced price.
I will be posting about these builds as they progress. Stay tuned...
